Over the last few years, we’ve reviewed thousands of design portfolios and spoken with hundreds of designers across India. One thing we’ve realised is that thoughtful design hiring is rare.
Many companies struggle to evaluate designers well, and many talented designers struggle to find teams where their work truly fits. That’s why BeingUser exists, to bridge the gap between talented designers and the teams looking for them.
We are looking for someone who is curious about the design ecosystem and wants to build expertise in design hiring.
This role sits at the intersection of people conversations, recruitment and design. If you enjoy understanding people’s career journeys and helping connect the right talent with the right opportunities, this role could be worth exploring.
About BeingUser
BeingUser is a boutique recruitment partner specialising in design hiring for product companies in India.
We work closely with design leaders, hiring managers and product teams to help them find the right design talent. Over time we’ve built a trusted network within the design community and a curated talent pool of designers across many product companies.
BeingUser was started by Sanjay Raval, a product designer turned design recruiter who has spent more than a decade working closely with designers and design teams.
What you'll do
Your work will focus on understanding designers and helping companies find the right talent.
Typical responsibilities include:
understanding hiring requirements from product companies
identifying and reaching out to potential design candidates
reviewing portfolios and candidate profiles to understand their strengths
speaking with designers about their work, motivations and career journeys
mapping suitable candidates from our talent pool to open roles
maintaining structured candidate insights in our talent database (ATS)
coordinating interviews between candidates and hiring teams
supporting candidates through the hiring process and ensuring a positive candidate experience
Over time you will develop expertise in evaluating design talent and matching designers to the right teams.

Bonus / good to have
prior experience in recruitment or talent acquisition
familiarity with product design, UX design or user research roles
experience working with tech or product teams
background in design-related fields such as architecture, industrial design, UX research, content design or similar areas
Recruitment experience is helpful, but curiosity about people and design is equally important.
Nature of the work
Recruitment involves a mix of conversations, analysis and operational coordination.
A typical week may include sourcing profiles, reviewing portfolios, speaking with designers, documenting candidate insights and keeping candidates warmed and engaged.
People who enjoy understanding people, spotting patterns in talent and working in a structured way usually find this role rewarding.

Compensation
Salary range: ₹6–12 LPA depending on experience and fit.
