About the role
This is Oolka's first design leadership hire.
You'll have the opportunity to define the product experience, design culture, and quality standards for a company building AI-first financial products for millions of users.
We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to the work while also helping build and mentor a growing design team. You'll work closely with founders, product leaders, and engineers to shape both product strategy and execution.
What you’ll do
Own product design from discovery through execution.
Shape the vision and experience for Oolka's core products and future initiatives.
Conduct user research and turn insights into product opportunities.
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to influence product direction.
Design intuitive AI-powered experiences that build trust and clarity.
Establish and maintain a high bar for design quality across the company.
Build scalable design foundations, systems, and processes.
Mentor designers and help grow the design team over time.
Contribute to hiring and building a strong design culture.
What we’re looking for
A hands-on design leader who enjoys staying close to the craft, this role is roughly 60% product design and 40% team leadership.
7–12 years of product design experience building and shipping consumer products at scale.
Strong B2C product intuition and a deep understanding of user behaviour.
Excellent product thinking, problem-solving, and systems thinking skills.
Exceptional visual design craft with a high bar for quality and attention to detail.
Experience conducting user research and translating insights into product decisions.
Proven ability to collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams.
Curiosity about AI and excitement for designing AI-native consumer experiences.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership and autonomy.
Nice to have
Fintech or financial services experience.
Experience building or scaling design systems.
Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
