The Challenge
Zluri was looking to strengthen its design team while building products in the Identity Security and Governance space, a domain that demands clarity, scalability, and strong user-centered thinking.
Initially, the need was for a Lead Product Designer who could own the design process end to end, collaborate closely with the Design Manager, and work across product and engineering teams to craft intuitive, consistent SaaS experiences. Experience with research, design systems, and complex workflows was essential.
Our Approach
This engagement felt especially meaningful as it came through a past hire, Dhanush, who connected his team with us, confident in our ability to find the right fit.
From the first conversation, it was clear that Zluri valued thoughtful design and respectful collaboration. Mehak, our primary point of contact, ensured candidates had a smooth and engaging experience - quick responses, empathy, and transparency were consistent throughout the process.
Interestingly, our first successful hire wasn’t for the Lead role, but for a Product Designer position. When we connected with Shreyas, it was evident that despite being earlier in his career, his work showed maturity, strong problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the full design journey. The Zluri team recognized this potential and moved forward with onboarding him as a Product Designer.
Outcome & What Made It Work
Rather than treating this as a deviation from the original plan, Zluri remained open and focused on finding the right talent. With Shreyas onboard, we continued the search for a Lead Product Designer.
Soon after, Somnath progressed steadily through the interview rounds. A thoughtful and experienced designer, he brought the systems thinking, clarity, and collaboration mindset the team was looking for. His alignment with Zluri’s design culture made him a natural fit for where the team was headed.
